Boys Noize's Audience @ Webster Hall 4/22
Last Night at Webster Hall, Boys Noize along with Housemeister and resident DJs Alex English and Rekles put on a stellar performance last night for a nearly sold out crowd.
The show started out by playing a few crowd favorites such as Cinema and Rock and Roll both by Skrillex along with a little Justice to set the mood just right. Up next came Housemeister, an artist on the Boys Noize Record Label whose music actually rocked the House well until 2:30. Such an eclectic mix of Hard Techno and House beats resonated throughout the audience displaying a clear difference between Dutch Electronic Music and German Electronic Music. Asking around in the crowd, people were clearly shocked that he was the lead up act before Boys Noize himself.
By the time Boys Noize came on the crowd which had swollen to near capacity in the Grand Ballroom eagerly awaited what was to come next. Boys Noize of course knowing his audience quite well, started off his set with “Kontact Me” a classic track of his that when played live makes the crowd swoon over him as he goes into his set. He flipped down his earphones (giving himself the Space Visor Look, like he was taking you to the moon) and continued on with plenty of hard beats all night long and such as “Jeffer” , “Starter”, “Vergifted” , “Transmission” and “Lemonade” definitely made their respective appearances . He even went so far as to drop “It’s Time For The Percolater” into his mix, which was both unexpected and very welcome into the night’s mix.
Boys Noize finally ended the show around 4:30 am. It was clear throughout the audience that he had met and superseded the expectations of everyone there. If you’re a fan of EDM I highly recommend that you see one of his shows. You will not be disappointed I assure you.
